There are certain things a good graduation night should be, regardless of whether the night is for high school or university students. It should be fun, it should be safe, and it should be classy. At Hillstone, we believe in our ability to provide all three of those things which is what makes us one of the best school formal venues Brisbane has to offer.

Our reputation speaks for itself – we have proudly hosted many school formals over the years. Many schools choose Hillstone as their preferred venue for graduation parties year after year. We provide sizeable onsite parking, security staff for the whole night, and our own hundred acre bar caters for parents and other guests should they wish to stay on-site for the duration of the event.

We love getting into the spirit of the occasion as much as the students and can provide multiple iconic backgrounds for photos. Our team can organise everything from candles and balloons to photo booths and fireworks. We also offer stages and lighting for the formal parts of the evening. For bands or DJs who may be playing at the event, dance floors are included in every package.

The University events we host are traditionally the awards and presentations for end-of-year graduations. For these events, our whole venue is available for hire, catering for up to 1,200 people.

We enjoy wonderful relationships with the University of Queensland, Griffith University and Queensland University of Technology, hosting many of their annual University and college balls – this is one of our specialties. We can also host conferences, meetings and innovative team-building events across the different faculties. These are available with golf course and restaurant packages.

Many of our onsite venues are perfect for formal events. We also know that a memorable arrival is part of the fun – students can use our clock tower for red carpet arrivals, showing off the interesting vehicles they’ve travelled in for the night. We can accommodate vehicles of just about any size, from stretch limousines to fire trucks, whole fleets of motorcycles, and even a Mr. Whippy van. Though the helipad will be locked down on the night due to OHS and golf course regulations (apologies to those considering an aerial entrance), we encourage students to get creative.

Our venues can cater to crowds of different sizes and events with specifically desired atmospheres. Not all school events are the same at Hillstone – where a dancefloor and a DJ may be all that’s required for one school, another may enjoy a spectacular display of fireworks (check with us early on this as we’re limited by Brisbane City Council).

All our venues are wheelchair accessible, and we can facilitate indoor and outdoor events as required. No matter what kind of event you’re planning, be it a graduation party, University ball or graduation ceremony, Hillstone is the perfect host for you.
